If you’re going camping and hiking, you’ll need camping and hiking equipment. But if you’re just going camping, some basic camping supplies will do. If you don’t have outdoor camping equipment, buying new stuff is quite fun. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on the equipment, there are some ways you can go about getting it cheaper. What You’ll Need

The basic outdoor camping gear is going to suffice for your camping trip, provided that you don’t need all of the luxuries of modern day camping equipment. You can often get that stuff for around a hundred dollars or less; if you know where and how to shop for it. If you want more outdoor camping equipment, there is a lot to choose from. There are portable grills and ovens, lanterns, heating pads, and much, much more. If you have the money, you’ll quickly find that you can fill up a few carts with all of this stuff. However, do you really want to carry this stuff around once you’re out there? Wouldn’t it be better to just get out there and go camping without having to look after all of this stuff? Don’t Forget Your Camping Cooking Equipment

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

Some people like to go camping while completely roughing it. The bulk of their outdoor camping equipment is a tent and maybe a sleeping bag.

Beyond that, they don’t want to bother with the luxuries of modern living. They want to enjoy nature as primitively as possible. Then there are those who like to enjoy nature while also enjoying a few of the modern luxuries that make lying out underneath the stars completely enjoyable. These types of people are usually never without their camping cooking equipment. Camping cooking equipment will allow you to cook what you need, when you need it. That way, you’ll never get bored with the same foods and you’ll be able to enjoy a wider variety of food while also enjoying nature.

The Types Of Equipment

When it comes to camping cooking equipment, there are many varieties. There are propane grills, portable stoves, portable ovens, stakes to put over fires, there are pots and pans, eating utensils, thermoses, canteens, plates and bowls and much, much more. If you can afford it, having all that camping cooking equipment will make camping very easy. If you’re hungry, simply slap some meat on the grill and soon you’ll be feasting in luxury. If you’re thirst, put some coffee on the stove and soon you’ll be able to enjoy a hot cup of Joe under the stars. However, you also have to realize that all that equipment is very heavy. So you’ll want to think about how you’re getting to your camping spot before you load up on all of this camping cooking equipment.

New Camping Equipment At Discount Camping Equipment Prices

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

You’re all set to go camping except you don’t have the camping cooking equipment that you’d like to have. Discount camping equipment is a good way to get everything you need for less money.

If you don’t buy discount camping equipment, you’ll soon find yourself broke buying everything you need at new prices. Therefore, try all the avenues you can think of to get your discount camping equipment, whether that equipment is cooking equipment, or anything else you need for your outing.

Used Equipment

Discount camping equipment can often be found at shops that sell used equipment. Used discount camping equipment can often be just as good as new equipment. Especially if you’re looking for equipment for cooking, buying used is a great way to get discount camping equipment. Just make sure, when buying used, that the discount camping equipment is still strong enough to last you a long time or else you’ll spend more money replacing that equipment in just a few short months.

Buying Online

Another great way to get discount camping equipment is to shop online. Places like Ebay or Craig’s List, or even Overstock.com can often land you all the discount camping equipment you need. You can have delivered right to your door and you’ll save lots of money. The only drawback to this is you’ll have to wait for the equipment to arrive. If you’re looking to just buy your equipment and go, you may not want to go this route.

Saving Money On Camping Equipment

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

There are few vacation ideas that are as inexpensive as camping. Camping equipment is what you’ll spend most of your money on. And you can quickly get out of hand when you see all that there is to offer as far as camping equipment goes. There are portable ovens and stoves, grills, pots and pans, state of the art tents and sleeping bags and much, much more. Before you know it, you’ll have spent a fortune on camping equipment. You probably could have spent less money had you bought cruise tickets or plane fare to a faraway land. However, you don’t have to spend a fortune on camping equipment; if you know how and where to shop for it that is.

Used Equipment

You’re on the lookout for discount camping equipment. Why not try used equipment? There are many places to find used camping equipment. You can go online to one of those free classified listings sites, you can try Ebay or you can go to a used camping equipment specialty store where they have all the camping equipment you need. If you’re wary about buying used camping equipment, or about sleeping or eating on things that other people have used, there are other ways to go about getting new, cheap camping equipment.

Overstock

There are some places that have so much stock that they offer cheaper camping equipment to get rid of it. Try camping and outdoors stores. Ask about their display items. Display items are meant to sell the equipment but these stores will usually offer a discount on the display items once those items have sold out. This is a good way to go about getting cheaper equipment. So ask about overstock or display items to stock up on all the equipment you’ll need to have a great time.

Camping Makes For A Great Family Vacation

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

If you’re looking to take the kids on vacation but you’re strapped for cash, that tends to eliminate a lot of vacation ideas. Cruises, while reasonable, aren’t so reasonable when you have to take the entire clan and the economy isn’t so good. Road trips require lots of gas and restaurant stops and plane tickets will likely cost you more than both of the above put together. A good vacation idea for the entire family that won’t cost you a lot of money is to take them camping. Camping equipment isn’t that expensive when you consider that you can use it over and over again, and all you need to buy is food for all of you. You’ll have a blast and you’ll save loads of money as you enjoy nature with your camping expedition.

What To Buy

You don’t need a lot to enjoy a good camping trip. You just need a tent, maybe some sleeping bags, though blankets will work perfectly, and then everything else is just extra. Some people like to go all out when they go camping. They like to buy propane grills for cooking, portable stoves for boiling water and making soup, pots and pans and other cooking and eating utensils, and everything else they need to completely enjoy themselves while out in the great outdoors. However, if you truly want to rough it all you need is shelter, some food and water and nature. That’s it. So it all comes down to how much you actually want to rough it and how many luxuries you want while you’re camping.

Food

Don’t forget food. Unless you want to catch, or fish, for all your food, you’ll want to take something with you. There are ready to eat meals you can buy at many camping stores, or you can bring ingredients and cook things yourself. A great idea is to buy a camping cookbook that will provide you with many recipes so that you’re not stuck eating the same things all the time. With these camping cookbooks, all you need are a few basic ingredients. This is ideal if you’re going to be hiking to your camping spot. Remember, the less you have to carry the better off you’ll be.
